Film Festival News

It’s been a long time since I’ve posted here because I’ve been busy with my next film (www.9piecesfilm.com). And the lead time for hearing about film festivals can be long. But now I have exciting news about “A Circle and Three Lines”! On the film festival front, I’ve just heard that the film will be at the 2010 Global Peace Film Festival in Orlando, Florida in late September. Right after Florida, it will screen in New York at the Woodstock Film Festival in early October.  In the world of broadcast, I’m thrilled that the film was selected to be part of the MN TV series in December on the Twin Cities’ Public Broadcasting Station, TPT. Great news all around!!

Just back from Big Sky Doc Fil…

Just back from Big Sky Doc Film Fest where my movie, “A Circle and Three Lines”, screened. This filmmaker path is a dream come true for me.

Big Sky Follow-Up

A CIRCLE AND THREE LINES screened at the historic Wilma Theater on Tuesday, 2/16.  It was a wonderful day, starting with speaking to students at Big Sky High School, then speaking on a “shorts” panel, and finally enjoying the screening.   I was surprisingly calm until about a half hour before the screening. That’s when I really appreciated being able to order a glass of wine at the theater.  I fell in love with Missoula over the five days I was there and look forward to returning to start my next movie which will be about the Missoula peace sign (more on that later).  Next weekend – off to Chicago to attend the Peace on Earth Film festival (2/26 – 28 at the Chicago Cultural Center). I’ve posted more photos on the FaceBook page for A CIRCLE AND THREE LINES.

First report from Big Sky

I’ve been at Big Sky (www.bigskyfilmfest.org) since Friday. It has been an absolutely amazing experience and my film hasn’t even screened yet! This is a beautiful city surrounded by snow-capped mountains whose residents are some of the friendliest and kindest people I have ever met. We (great P.A. Amira and I) have seen many movies in the restored Wilma Theater and have attended a filmmaker party every night. It’s a great place to network with filmmakers at all levels of experience who are very supportive of each other.  Today, Melody Gilbert (biz partner and doc filmmaker) joined us for a few days. Tomorrow, I’ll be speaking at a high school, participating on a “panel” about short docs, and then my film screens at 4:00 pm
